Panelist at Islamic Bank Consultative Forum (IBCF)

November 25, 2024 ICBF (established in 1995) held a high-level dialogue on the draft Islami Bank Company Act recently proposed by Bangladesh Bank. The dialog was attended by Chairmen/MDs/CEOs of various Banks, relevant experts and academics. The event took place at Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) and presided over by the DG of BIBM.

In a keynote presentation, Dr. Mahabbat Hossain, presented the work of a team and reviewed and prepared feedback on the draft. Then, an open discussion took place, where I was privileged to share my thoughts, while representing UIU as the Head of the Department of Economics and Founding Director, Institute of Islamic Banking, Finance and Economics. The recommendations agreed upon by the participants will be presented by IBCF to Bangladesh Bank.
