1. BS in Islamic Finance and Economics (BIFE) (Upcoming)

Islamic banking and finance is now a growing sector in the world and as well as in Bangladesh. There are some full-fledged Islamic banks, Non-bank financial corporations and insurance companies operating in Bangladesh. Many financial institutions are working in this area in the form of branches and windows. To cater in the needs and rapid requirements of these Islamic enterprises, the Institute of Islamic Banking, Finance and Economics (IIBFE) at the United International University (UIU) has come up with the Bachelor of Science (BS) Program in Islamic Finance and Economics (BIFE). This is the first ever under-graduate program in Bangladesh. This four-year BS program will blend academic theory and business practices while preparing students in challenging work environments or in advanced academic studies. This program will be of paramount importance in achieving the vision of preparing leaders who will be able to transform Shariah-based knowledge through their in-depth analysis and innovative ideas.

The under-graduate program designed to enhance skills and capacity in an individual for effective application of Islamic banking, non-bank Islamic corporations and Takaful industries. The emphasis will be on developing the student’s ability to evaluate business and organizational situations to enable him/her to make creative judgments about policy as per Shari’ah point of view. A unique educational approach will be taken to groom the graduates who will be entering the program from diverse backgrounds.
